Basketball Game Preview: Doniphan Dons vs. East Carter Redbirds

The Doniphan Dons will venture away from home to challenge the East Carter Redbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Doniphan is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenville. The loss continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, East Carter's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They were beaten by South Iron 63-35. The loss was the Redbirds' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, East Carter fell to 3-1. As for Doniphan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Doniphan and East Carter were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Doniphan came up empty-handed after a 49-48 loss. Can Doniphan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
