Homestead faced Heritage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Spartans blew past the Patriots 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

One reason for the win was Homestead's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-11.

Among those leading the charge was Harrison Talarico, who had 15 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave him a new career-high. Jaden Schneider also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Homestead's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Heritage, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
