Preview: Strafford Indians vs. Forsyth Panthers
Strafford has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Forsyth Panthers at TBD on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Strafford got the win against Houston by a conclusive 35-13.
Silas Morton went supernova for Strafford, rushing for 287 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per carry. Morton's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Another big playmaker for Strafford was Bradlee Mullins, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Forsyth took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 65-20 win over Willow Springs. 65 seems to be a good number for Forsyth as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Among those leading the charge was Braxton Gross, who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Rolly Fisher was another key contributor, rushing for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Forsyth's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was John Goodwin and his two sacks.
Strafford's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Forsyth, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Strafford lost to Forsyth on the road by a decisive 42-28 margin in their previous meeting back in October. Can Strafford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
