Softball Game Preview: Angola Hornets vs. Jimtown Jimmies

The Angola Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Jimtown Jimmies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Churubusco hit Angola with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hornets have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Jimtown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against South Bend Saint Joseph, falling 17-1.

Angola's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Jimtown, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.

Angola might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Jimtown in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
