Basketball Recap: Page Takes a Loss

Page and Phoenix Country Day squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Page had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 62-35 to the Phoenix Country Day Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Sand Devils have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Phoenix Country Day had a senior duo take command as Olivia Owens shot 56% from the field on her way to 24 points in addition to six steals and five assists and Aila Kaibara almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Owens has scored at least a third of Phoenix Country Day's points. Madison Gordon was another key player, putting up five points and ten rebounds.

Page's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Phoenix Country Day, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 27-5.

As of now, neither Page nor Phoenix Country Day have any future games scheduled.
