Baseball Recap: Tooele Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Farmington, Tooele was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Green Canyon Wolves 17-6. With that win, the Buffaloes brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Reeder Conger, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Gabe Sutherland also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Tooele always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Tooele's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3. As for Green Canyon, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tooele will square off against Grantsville at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Green Canyon, they will take on Box Elder at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Canyon has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
