            Softball Recap: Goddard Rockets vs. Portales Rams        
        
		
        
        
            Four must be Goddard's lucky number: they beat Portales with that score not once but twice  on Thursday. The Rockets came out on top against the Rams by a score of  4-1. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.
 Vivianna Morales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Roxanna Serrano was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in March of 2024.  Marisol Hernandez was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs.

Goddard pushed their record up to 13-7 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Portales,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 9-11.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Goddard is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Lovington  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Portales will  challenge  rival Artesia  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
