Meanwhile, Jellico was beaten by Sunbright 75-33 on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clay County will need to focus on slowing down Sophia Lay, one of several Jellico players who made an impact when they last played. She posted nine points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lay a new career-high in points. Kendall Osborn was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Clay County pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. As for Jellico, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-22.

Everything came up roses for Clay County against Jellico when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 64-23 victory.
