Basketball Recap: New Diana Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

New Diana won the last time they faced Hughes Springs and things went their way on Tuesday too. The New Diana Eagles snuck past the Hughes Springs Mustangs with a 40-36 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

New Diana was led to victory by Jolie Ballard and Taryn Reece. Ballard almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, while Reece posted 11 points and six rebounds. Those 11 points gave Reece a new career-high.

New Diana was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

New Diana's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-14. As for Hughes Springs, they dropped their record down to 11-15 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

New Diana will venture away from home to take on Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Diana is facing Chapel Hill at the right time seeing as Chapel Hill is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hughes Springs, they will square off against Daingerfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hughes Springs will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: Daingerfield will have lost 16 straight heading into Friday's contest.
