Football Recap: Gilbert Indians vs. Bluffton Bobcats
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gilbert had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down the Bluffton Bobcats 38-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2017.
When it comes to explaining why Bluffton lost, don't look at Aedan McCarthy. Despite the final result, he threw for 339 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 41 yards. A healthy portion of McCarthy's aerial production (138 yards to be exact) went to Carnell Warren.
Gilbert is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.8 points over those games. As for Bluffton, they moved to 8-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Gilbert didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-7 defeat against North Augusta on the 14th. Bluffton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
