Baseball Game Preview: Eureka Wildcats vs. Lindbergh Flyers

The Eureka Wildcats will take on the Lindbergh Flyers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eureka 2.7, Lindbergh 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Eureka turned things around against Parkway Central on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Colts.

Meanwhile, Lindbergh wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Lindbergh got a good showing from Luke Steiner, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits Steiner has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Lindbergh saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karsen Stout, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Eureka's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Lindbergh, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9-1.

Eureka skirted past Lindbergh 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Flyers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
