Basketball Game Preview: Union City Soaring Eagles vs. Fair Lawn Cutters

The Union City Soaring Eagles will square off against the Fair Lawn Cutters on Thursday. Fair Lawn took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Union City, who comes in off a win.

Union City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Secaucus 65-34 last Monday. The Soaring Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Fair Lawn came up short against West Milford on Thursday and fell 47-40. While losing is never fun, the Cutters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Highlanders are ranked 86th).

Fair Lawn's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Union City, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
