Volleyball Game Preview: Vianney Golden Griffins vs. Christian Brothers Cadets

The Vianney Golden Griffins will face off against the Christian Brothers Cadets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Vianney came up short against Marquette and fell 3-1. The Golden Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vianney came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Christian Brothers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eureka.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21.

Vianney now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Christian Brothers, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Vianney took their win against Christian Brothers when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Golden Griffins repeat their success, or do the Cadets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
