Baseball Recap: Von Steuben's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Von Steuben proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Whitney Young Dolphins 4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Isaiah Davalos made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Davalos wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was George Allen, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Von Steuben's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11-2. As for Whitney Young, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.

Von Steuben will have a chance to go back-to-back against Whitney Young: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
