Football Recap: San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves vs. Valhalla Norsemen

San Jacinto Valley Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Valhalla Norsemen on Friday, falling 51-27.

Valhalla got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Newman out in front who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 70 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Newman posted two passing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Jaime Pimentel was Newman's top target, picking up 49 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 57 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, San Jacinto Valley Academy will challenge Desert Mirage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valhalla, they will take on Mira Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
