Recap: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Shattuck Indians
If the Carnegie Wildcats were riding high off their 60-34 takedown of the Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Carnegie took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shattuck on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Carnegie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jalen Wallace. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wallace has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Duane Cavaness, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Carnegie's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Shattuck, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Carnegie will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Binger-Oney at 8:00 p.m. As for Shattuck, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Perry at 1:30 p.m. on January 26th. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while Shattuck is ranked 107th).
