Softball Game Preview: Hall Red Devils vs. Mendota Trojans

Hall is 2-8 against Mendota since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Red Devils will head out to square off against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m.

Hall had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Mendota on Tuesday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Trojans. The Red Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brynn Blair made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She also put up two walks, which were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Burkart, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caroline Morris, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Mendota is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Hall, their victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
