Basketball Recap: Dawson Springs Comes Up Short

Dawson Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Henderson County Colonels, falling 63-36. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.

Dawson Springs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaybird Plunkette, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Rex Blue, who earned 11 points.

Dawson Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Henderson County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dawson Springs will head out to face off against Hopkins County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopkins County Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Dawson Springs likes a good challenge. As for Henderson County, they will venture away from home to take on University Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
