Soccer Game Preview: Tupelo vs. Germantown

The Tupelo Golden Wave will head out on the road to challenge the Germantown Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tupelo's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Tupelo is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Starkville, who was ranked ninth at the time (Tupelo was ranked fifth). Tupelo fell just short of Starkville by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Germantown lost 6-1 to Madison Central on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost five in a row.

Germantown now has a losing record at 6-7-1. As for Tupelo, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-4.
