Soccer Game Preview: Western Christian vs. Samueli Academy

The Western Christian Fighting Lancers are taking a road trip to take on the Samueli Academy Firewolves at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.

Western Christian is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Arrowhead Christian just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They and the Eagles finished up their matchup with a 3-3 draw. The result kept the Fighting Lancers happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Samueli Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They played to a draw too, finishing 0-0 against Fairmont Prep. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Firewolves have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

With that draw, Samueli Academy's record moves to 10-5-4. Meanwhile, Western Christian's record is now 8-3-2.

Western Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Samueli Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
