A Season-Best Effort from Alex Wolfe Leads Waterford over Gustine

On Friday, Waterford got the W thanks in part to Alex Wolfe playing the best football he has all season. Wolfe rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

For the season, Wolfe has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 95.7 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 0.14 rushing yards per game.

Marcus Gray's Rushing Yards a New Career-High

On Friday, Stone Ridge Christian got the W thanks in part to Marcus Gray playing the best football he has all season. Gray threw for 192 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The victory (which was Stone Ridge Christian's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Gray will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Mariposa County on Friday.

Kayden Downey Delivers Best Performance of Season

On Friday, Stone Ridge Christian got the W thanks in part to Kayden Downey playing the best football he has all season. Downey picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending five passes.

This season, Downey has caught 6 touchdowns while averaging 57 receiving yards per game.

Stone Ridge Christian Gets a Boost from O?Neil in 43-26 Win

Stone Ridge Christian picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Daijon O?Neil. O?Neil turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.

O?Neil is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Mariposa County on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time O?Neil saw the Grizzlies), he rushed for 159 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Laten Butler Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Laten Butler of Mariposa County. Butler picked up 54 receiving yards, and also rushed for 50 yards.

Mariposa County dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Butler and Mariposa County will challenge Stone Ridge Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
