Basketball Recap: Molly Hamner and Addison Dowdy Secure Win for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot lost to Tidewater Academy back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights walked away with a 43-34 victory over the Tidewater Academy Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was led to victory by Addison Dowdy and Molly Hamner. Dowdy posted 17 points and seven boards, while Hamner dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Hamner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Abigail Kearns also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

The win got Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot back to even at 6-6. As for Tidewater Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot and Fuqua will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Tidewater Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southampton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
