Baseball Recap: Tooele Comes Up Short

Tooele fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Cottonwood on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Colts by a score of 8-7. The Buffaloes haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Tooele got a massive performance out of Luis Garcia, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Garcia a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Higgins, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

Even though they lost, Tooele was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tooele's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cottonwood, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

While Tooele had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
