Football Game Preview: Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) vs. Pleasanton Eagles

Uvalde is 0-3 against Pleasanton since October of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Uvalde has given up an average of 36.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Uvalde is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Davenport on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) lost 40-20 to the Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 786th, while the Wolves are ranked 149th).

Jett Flores put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 54 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Pleasanton fell victim to Somerset and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Eagles have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Uvalde's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Pleasanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Uvalde couldn't quite get it done against Pleasanton in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 as they fell 20-7. Thankfully for the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls), Erik Coronado (who rushed for 191 yards and one score while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 107 receiving yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
