Americas took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 41-9 victory over the Coronado Thunderbirds. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Trail Blazers had established a 24-point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Americas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joaquin Hernandez, who rushed for 150 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. Those 150 rushing yards gave Hernandez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Edwards, who gained 205 total yards and a touchdown.

Americas has already played their next contest, a 31-28 win against Hanks on the 4th. As for Coronado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 47-28 defeat against Andress on the 5th.
