Basketball Preview: St. Mary's Rams vs. Inderkum Tigers
Two dominant guards in Daniel Huerta and Jeremiah Butler are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the St. Mary's Rams will jump right back in to play the Inderkum Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Friday, St. Mary's beat the Tigers 64-53. Given St. Mary's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Tigers are ranked 773rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Huerta was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Ward, who scored nine points along with six assists.
In what's become a running theme this season, Inderkum gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 92-43 win over Yuba City. The win was familiar territory for Inderkum who now have six in a row.
St. Mary's is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. As for Inderkum, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
