Basketball Recap: Escalante Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Escalante can now relate to. They came up short against the Green River Pirates on Thursday, falling 64-38. The match marked the Moquis' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Green River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rolando Anguiano, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 19 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. The contest was Anguiano's third in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jason Hernandez, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Escalante and nudges their season record down to 10-15. As for Green River, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Escalante does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Green River, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-57 loss against Wendover on the 28th.
