Baseball Recap: Harvard Comes Up Short

Harvard fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Richmond-Burton on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 14-6 to the Rockets. The Hornets have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Justin Wheeler was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Harvard: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Bennett, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Harvard's record is now 4-7. As for Richmond-Burton, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 2-8 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rockets beat Harvard by a score of 16-5 later that day.
