Basketball Game Preview: Statesville Christian Lions vs. North Hills Christian Eagles

The Statesville Christian Lions will face off against the North Hills Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Monday, Statesville Christian came up short against Hickory Christian Academy and fell 68-60. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, North Hills Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Lake Norman Christian 81-31. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 550th, while the Lions are ranked 167th).

Statesville Christian will have to contain Maverick Ball as he made an impact in North Hills Christian's last game. He posted 11 points. That was a full 35.5% of North Hills Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Statesville Christian now has a losing record at 7-8. As for North Hills Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
