Dorman faced Lexington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cavaliers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Cavaliers: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in March, they had to take a 12-0 loss.

Logan Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Maddie Bishop was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Abby Queen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Dorman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Lexington, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

As of now, neither Dorman nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
