Randolph County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Vinemont, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Randolph County beat the Eagles by a score of 7-4 later that day.
