Utah Military Academy - Hill Field dropped down to 10-6 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 14-4 to the American Heritage Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-6 loss back in August.
Christian Sanchez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Braden Emmett was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for American Heritage, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
On American Heritage's side, Justin Robertson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Robertson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for American Heritage: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 7-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Adam Lee and Henry Allred did most of the damage at the plate: Lee went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Allred went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave Allred a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Deryk Hawkins, who earned three runs and one stolen base.
Utah Military Academy - Hill Field wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-6 loss against Intermountain Christian on the 25th. As for American Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-12 defeat against Draper APA on the 25th.
