Sweetwater has gone a perfect 10-0 against Castle Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Red Devils will square off against the Trojans at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sweetwater has six straight victories, Castle Park has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Sweetwater had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Southwest SD on Thursday. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 18-1 win. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.

Tatyana Mosqueda made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Romero, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ariana Tovar, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Sweetwater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest SD only posted an OBP of .350.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Castle Park's offense. They lost 16-0 to Montgomery on Thursday.
Sweetwater pushed their record up to 17-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Castle Park, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Sweetwater took their victory against Castle Park when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 19-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
