Baseball Recap: Sunset Takes a Loss

The matchup between Sunset and White on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bison came up short against the Longhorns, falling 16-5. The Bison were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Longhorns earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Sunset saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dreadan Galvan, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The Bison are 5-2 when Galvan posts two or more stolen bases, but 10-12 otherwise. Edwin Chavez was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Sunset has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season. As for White, they pushed their record up to 15-13-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Sunset will head out on the road to challenge Tyler Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for White, they will host Adamson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
