Whitney waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-43 victory over the Oxford Academy Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Patriots since April 30, 2021.

Whitney has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Oxford Academy, they dropped their record down to 11-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitney will head out to face off against Cerritos at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oxford Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Oxford Academy is facing Glenn at the right time seeing as Glenn is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
