Football Game Preview: Eastern Hills Highlanders vs. Kennedale Wildcats + Official Tickets

Eastern Hills hasn't had much luck against Kennedale recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Highlanders will face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Hills will be strutting in after a win while Kennedale will be coming in after a defeat.

Eastern Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Diamond Hill-Jarvis for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Highlanders in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Prince Hill and Christopher Johnson. Hill rushed for 159 yards and three scores while Johnson rushed for 119 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Hill has become a key player for Eastern Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-5 otherwise.

Eastern Hills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 372 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five contests, Kennedale finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a blow against Alvarado, falling 63-3. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Indians are ranked 33rd).

The victory got Eastern Hills back to even at 5-5. As for Kennedale, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Eastern Hills has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 211.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Kennedale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 257.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
