Softball Recap: Butte Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Butte can now relate to. They fell just short of the Sentinel Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Butte saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mattie Stepan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Butte's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Sentinel, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Spartans beat Butte by a score of 9-5 later that day.
