Softball Recap: Naperville North Drops Season-High Score on Plainfield South

Naperville North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 18-11 to the Plainfield South Cougars. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked the Huskies' highest-scoring game to date.

Sara Rossi was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Cory Newbold was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double.

Naperville North's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Plainfield South, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Naperville North will be playing at home against Naperville Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Plainfield South, they will square off against Romeoville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
