Football Recap: Clearfield Falls to Bellwood-Antis in First Game of Season

Clearfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bison came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 302nd).

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colton Ryan, who rushed for 88 yards and one TD. Cooper Broad also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Alex McCartney was a one-man wrecking crew For Bellwood-Antis. as he rushed for 115 yards and three scores.
