Softball Recap: Mount Greylock Regional Comes Up Short

If Mount Greylock Regional was riding high fresh off their 22-3 takedown of Pioneer Valley Regional last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mounties lost 17-6 to the Wahconah Regional Warriors on Wednesday. The Mounties have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Malia Koffi was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Gaudreau, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Mount Greylock Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Greylock Regional will head out to face off against Frontier Regional at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Mounties' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Hawks have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Wahconah Regional, they will venture away from home to take on Northampton at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
