Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Gananda Central

While Gananda Central put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Lyons. The Blue Panthers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 23-0 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Blue Panthers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Maddox Stoughton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Stoughton was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Gananda Central got a massive performance out of Brady Wadsworth, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Wadsworth has posted since back in April of 2024. Will Schneemann was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Gananda Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Gananda Central pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.3 runs thus far. As for Lyons, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gananda Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Sodus at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lyons will take on rival East Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
