Softball Recap: Weir Comes Up Short

Weir and Winfield squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Weir had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Red Riders have suffered since April 5th.

Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 28-9. As for Winfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Weir will take on Frankfort at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Riders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. Winfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
