Fossil Ridge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Azle Hornets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 11, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Sarah Chrisman, who scored a run while going 3-for-6. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kendolyn Lockhart, who went 3-for-8 with one double and one RBI.

Chrisman wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fossil Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Fossil Ridge pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Azle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10-2 record this season.

Fossil Ridge will be playing at home against Brewer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Azle, they are taking a road trip to take on Saginaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets are facing the Rough Riders at the right time seeing as the Rough Riders are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
