Volleyball Recap: Newbury Park Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Newbury Park had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Mission Vista by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Newbury Park sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 19-25, 15-7.

Mission Vista can attribute much of their success to EJ Catapang, who had six digs and two aces.

Mission Vista pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Newbury Park has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Mira Costa on the 21st. As for Mission Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against North on the 21st.
