After flying high against Liberty Christian Academy last Friday, Wayne Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenfield Knights on Tuesday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Nate Peck put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Peck was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Wayne Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-3 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Peck wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Benkovics, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Sal Benkovics also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wayne Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Greenfield, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

While Wayne Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
