Volleyball Recap: Perry Meridian Beats Plainfield for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Perry Meridian had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Plainfield Quakers.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Perry Meridian was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11, 25-11.

Leading Perry Meridian to victory were Avan Van and Ram Ni Chin. Van had 12 digs and one assist, while Ni Chin had ten assists. Van has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times he's played. Matthew O'Connor also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Perry Meridian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.

Perry Meridian's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Plainfield, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Perry Meridian and Beech Grove will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Plainfield, they will take on Ben Davis at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
