Baseball Game Preview: Poly Bears vs. Valley View Eagles

For the second straight game, Poly will face off against Valley View. The Bears will welcome the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Poly was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley View, taking the game 6-1. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Danny Bedford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Henry, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Lucas Burton was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Valley View is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8. As for Poly, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
