Basketball Recap: James C Isabell's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

James C Isabell had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They took down the Kiana Lynx 52-34 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Aklaqs also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2018.

Leading James C Isabell to victory were Taylor Bloomstrand and Kyra Weyanna. Bloomstrand posted 19 points, while Weyanna put up 17 points. Weyanna has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amiah Thomas, who earned eight points.

Kiana lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Marie Barr, who had 14 points. That was a full 41.2% of Kiana's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Nicole Barr was another key player, putting up ten points.

James C Isabell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Kiana, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: James C Isabell beat Kiana by a score of 41-25 on Monday.
