Baseball Recap: Bowsher's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

Bowsher dropped their record down to 15-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Start Spartans by a score of 2-0. The BlueRacers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

As for Start, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.

For Start's part, the result came thanks to Braden Bowman's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks. Bowman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Start's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Creecy, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Bowsher wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 21-1 victory against John Hay on the 17th. As for Start, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Northview at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th.
