The Cyprus Pirates will face off against the Grantsville Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cyprus is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Cyprus had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Kearns on Monday. Cyprus was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Kearns. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Breelyn ( Bree ) Garcia was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Calee Sharp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Grace Gober, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Grantsville won against Tooele last Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Grantsville won by a run and slipped past Morgan 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.
Like Cyprus, Grantsville also got a great game from a two-way player: Hayden Bytheway. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Bytheway was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kira Hart was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Eden Ressel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Cyprus pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Grantsville, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Cyprus came out on top in a nail-biter against Grantsville when the teams last played back in March of 2022, sneaking past 8-7. Does Cyprus have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grantsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
